tell me a fairy tale

Today is “Tell a Fairy Tale Day” so I wanted to share a little fairy tale inspired poetry I’ve been working on! These are part of a collection where I am exploring traditional feminine roles and imagery and how these should or should not define women. I think fairy tales, though my favorite story type, are responsible for a lot of issues in the representation of what a women should be. So I’m having some fun re-imagining those ideals. However, I will always love the magic they bring us and will continue trying to spread that magic as far as I possibly can. These poems represent that juxtaposition.

Leave me a comment if you want to see more, or if you respond to these in any way!

have a magical day!

I'm just a Nashville native who uprooted her whole life to work for a mouse. This blog exists because even in the midst of the most magical lives, we can't forget about the tragedies that built us ✨
